About Me

Katherine N. McCombs (Kate) has never had a career that fits neatly into a job title, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

A storyteller at heart and a self-proclaimed "Professional Problem-Solver," Katherine has built a career around embracing the unexpected. Over the years, Katherine has worn many hats, sometimes literally. She has worked as a circus manager, stage manager, assistant managing director, director of communications, academic program administrator, social media manager, wedding coordinator, party planner, wardrobe manager, dresser, personal assistant, bar manager, bartender, barista, voice-over artist, freelance writer, poet, and life coach.

Katherine calls Queens, Dubai, and Rhode Island home, each depending on the day. During her time in Dubai, she spoke more Spanish than English and is still proficient in the language. She can say hello and thank you in 8 languages with a handful of phrases in French, Italian, Russian, Arabic, and Hindi.

She is known for overusing the word “Y’all” and otherwise abusing her position as the “Token American” in a British entertainment office during her time overseas.

Outside of work, you'll usually find Katherine reading fiction, wandering through an art museum, planning her next trip abroad, writing in one of her many notebooks at local coffee shops, or striking up conversations with complete strangers over glasses of wine (or gin). More often than not, those conversations become incredible stories and even unexpected professional opportunities.

Whether she's managing a circus, producing an event, or sharing stories with a stranger over a glass of wine, Katherine is happiest when she's bringing people together, solving problems, and discovering what unexpected adventure comes next.

Her current resume is available here.

If you've made it this far, we should probably talk. I'd love to hear your story.
